Digital art practice - week 15

 This week, we started our future tribes project.

I wanted to encapsulate an outlandish style, rather than basing my work on a traditional tribe, I instead wanted to capture the essence of post apocalyptic styles with original themes of tribes, such as the use of tattoos, feathers and tribe symbolism like a face plate.

Gathering real and game ref to aid my work.

I gathered various ref for my real tribes, because I wanted to see what I could capture within the design, whether it was the idea of what they hunted or gathered, markings on their being or culture - bits of this can be seen on the concepts.

However, the thing I found difficult was trying to establish what to era to base my tribe off, as the post apocalyptic appealed most to me, I went for that style, taking inspiration from rage and borderlands.

I had the idea to get inspiration from horizon zero dawn, however a lot of models were filled with more complex and intricate shapes which would have made the concept and silhouette more noisy.
