After looking over the various texture resources I collected from Overwatch, I wanted to use the style to create my own chest. I wanted to do something different, in this case, a sci-fi chest.
I took inspiration from various dents, scratches and dusty particles on the textures to inform my work.
The thing I found most difficult on this project was making sure I could fit the UVs onto the sheet and ensure I was able to connect the panels together. Some of the panels had a pixelated edge, which carried over to the official texturing in 3DS max.
In the future, I will always make sure to scale down UVs, especially if they are of less importance and always separate UVs so there is plenty of padding. This way I can prevent colour bleed and have a neater UV sheet.
