Today, I went over lighting techniques for an object.
Thinking about where light would be coming from and where shadows could be casted to ensure I had an accurate representation of a material or object.
For more organic materials it was key to include this to distinguish between different planes. However, you could also do this with shape to show different planes, however, this wouldn't work with materials, such as skin, when wrapping it around a primitive, so lighting would be key to use in a situation like this.
